Stainless Steel 317 Tubing is made primarily of steel, containing 18-20% chromium, 11-15% nickel, 3-4% molybdenum, carbon, manganese, silicon and trace amounts of sulfur which give good corrosion resistance especially in acidic conditions places. Mechanical properties include high tensile strength, stiffness, and high thermal resistance. It has good weldability and formability. The advantages of SS 317 tubing are its durability, excellent corrosion resistance, especially to chlorides, and resistance to harsh mechanical conditions, making it ideal for chemical and marine applications.
